Alan M. Letzt, M.S.

President and CEO

Alan Letzt is a healthcare-IT executive who specializes in the development and commercialization of advanced technologies that enhance patient-provider communications, patient self-management, and health education. He is the co-inventor of TELLYHealth (patent pending) and AccuNurse® (patented). Earlier, Mr. Letzt was the founder, President and CEO of Adherence Technologies Corp. Mr. Letzt has served as the P.I. on 11 NIH R&D grants as well as grants awarded by the Institute for the Advancement of Community Pharmacy and the Department of Education on the following topics: hearing loss, Type 2 diabetes, HIV/AIDS, kidney disease, and polypharmacy issues. Mr. Letzt has worked closely with audiologists, physicians, pharmacists, administrators, nurses and nurse’s aides in settings such as: private audiology practices, home healthcare, health clinics, independent senior living, assisted living, and long-term care. He also received the prestigious Tibbetts Award from the SBA for his NIH-sponsored SBIR research and served as the President of the DC Society of Professional Engineers. Mr. Letzt earned his B.S. degree in Engineering (with a minor in Psychology) and his M.S. degree in Engineering and Entrepreneurship from Carnegie-Mellon University.

 

Ronald J. Klayton, MD, FACP, FCCP

Chief Medical Advisor

Dr. Klayton is a board certified internist. Throughout his career, he has educated his patients on important healthcare self-management issues. In addition, he has been involved in patient group education classes and has given numerous educational talks to hospital house-staff and attending staff. He has served as a staff physician for Norton Community Hospital, Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group, Fairfax Hospital and the Virginia Hospital Center. He has several received awards for Excellence in Teaching and was voted by his peers as a Top Doctor in Northern Virginia. He was also a Captain in the US Navy Medical Corps for 20 years. Dr. Klayton graduated with high honors from Lehigh University and earned his medical degree from the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center.

 

Stephanie P. Letzt, M.S.

Vice President

Stephanie Letzt is a scientist and business executive who is a co-founder of HTM and a co-inventor of the TELLYHealth system. She is highly skilled in applying health literacy principles to health education materials and video storyboards and design for usability. Earlier, as the VP and co-founder of Adherence Technologies Corp. (ATC), she contributed to the design, development and testing of the AccuNurse system and training course development. Ms. Letzt was a key investigator on NIH-sponsored research in diabetes management and medication adherence. Earlier she performed research for Montefiore Hospital and the George Washington University School of Medicine. Ms. Letzt earned her undergraduate and master’s degrees at the University of Pittsburgh in molecular microbiology and public health.

 

Maureen J. Wiskerchen, M.A.

Director, Audiology

Maureen Wiskerchen is a clinical audiologist who is experienced in conducting the full range of hearing tests, evaluating patients’ needs, and fitting patients with the most appropriate assistive devices. She has served as a senior investigator on HTM’s NIH research grants on audiology. She has also served as a Senior Clinical Audiologist at the Sharp Rees-Stealy Medical Group. Previously she was a Clinical Audiologist for the Audioscope Audiology Group, the Jana Smith-Lang Ear Medical Center and the Blue Ridge Speech and Hearing Center. Ms. Wiskerchen earned her MA degree in Audiology from George Washington University.

 

Elizabeth Scattergood Segall, B.A.

Director, Research Analysis

Elizabeth Segall is an experienced health policy analyst and clinical researcher who has contributed to HTM’s recent research on improved health education and health literacy. She has served as a senior investigator on HTM’s NIH research grants on audiology and diabetes self-management education. She has an extensive knowledge of the Medicare and Medicaid programs and a variety of public health policy issues. Earlier she was the Director of Information Management at Muse & Associates. Prior to that she was a Case Worker and legislative aid in the office of Congressman William D. Ford and an Information Specialist in the US House of Representatives. Ms. Segall earned her BA degree from Barnard College.
